Remnant 2: How to Make the Ravager Choice

Here's how to make the right Ravager choice in Remnant 2.

Knowing how to make the Ravager choice in Remnant 2 can lead you to several different outcomes and items. Should you kill the Doe? Should you save the Doe? Should you attack the Ravager? These are all questions you’ll have to answer when you meet the corrupted boss at its lair in Yaesha. You can take your time making the decision because the boss won’t attack you while you decide.

How to Make the Ravager Choice in Remnant 2

There are three outcomes for the Ravager choice in Remnant 2, each with its own reward:

  • Kill the Doe: Get the Ravager’s Mark.
  • Save the Doe: Get the Doe’s Antler.
  • Attack (and beat) the Ravager: Get the Ravager’s Maw.

Ravager Choice: Kill the Doe

To kill the doe, simply shoot it in the head or in the body. It will go down quickly, and you’ll receive the Ravager’s Mark as soon as it dies. This amulet has the following benefit:

  • Ravager’s Mark: Increases all damage dealt to bleeding targets by 20%; bonus increases to 30% for targets with 50% or lower health.”

I find this pairs perfectly with a Long Gun like Merciless, though you’ll also need to shoot the Ravager without interacting with the Doe to get that weapon, which is a different Ravager choice.

Because you’ve done away with the old order and sealed your pact with the Corrupter Ravager, you won’t have to fight the boss. This will also give you the Only Human trophy and achievement for defeating “a boss in single-player without taking any damage.”

Ravager Choice: Save the Doe

You can also choose to save the Doe when faced with this decision. To do so, walk up to it and interact with the prompt on its stomach. You’ll use your Relic to heal the wounded animal, enraging the Ravager. The Doe will attack the boss, wounding it, but not removing any of its health for the boss battle ahead, unfortunately. Defeat the Ravager to get the Doe’s Antler, which you can take to McCabe to make the Red Doe Staff.

Ravager Choice: Attack the Ravager

This Ravager choice is similar to saving the Doe, except you initiate the boss fight without interacting with the wounded animal at all. Simply face the mewling boss and shoot it. This initiates the boss fight immediately. Once you’ve defeated the beast, you’ll get the Ravager’s Maw. You can turn this in to McCabe in Ward 13 to craft Feral Judgement, one of the best weapons in the game. You’ll also get the Crimson Membrane to craft Merciless.

Which is the Best Ravager Choice?

Ultimately, the best Ravager choice comes down to many different factors. If you’re a trophy and achievement hunter, you’ll want to kill the Doe on at least one of your runs to get Only Human. Ravager’s Mark isn’t too shabby, but there aren’t many ways to inflict Bleed in Remnant 2.

Saving the Doe is a good choice because you’ll get the Red Doe Staff, one of the stronger special melee weapons. If it were my money, I’d go with attacking the Ravager without interacting with the Doe (choice 3). You’ll get both a melee weapon and an awesome Long Gun in Merciless.

That’s how to make the Ravager choice in Remnant 2. For more tips and tricks, including boss strategies, how to unlock many of the game’s Archetypes, and how to solve puzzles like those in the Lament dungeon, head over to our R2 guides hub.
