Sony Changes Uncharted Movie Release Date Yet Again

We might get to see the Uncharted movie a bit earlier than expected.
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

The Uncharted movie’s history is long and torturous, spanning multiple directors, revisions, and delays before landing on a setup even the actors are excited about. Now, Sony has even more good news. After being delayed to October 2021, the Uncharted movie release date was pushed up to July 2021.

The news comes from an updated Sony film release chart IGN spotted.

It lists the Uncharted movie’s release date as July 16, 2021, three months earlier than the previous October 8, 2021 release date.

Naturally, this release schedule is highly likely to change at any moment, depending on how COVID-19 impacts the Uncharted movie’s filming schedule and general production. If it does stay like this, though, Uncharted movie is taking the untitled Marvel Spider-Man Far From Home sequel’s release spot; the Spidey film is now slated for a November 5 release date.

Delay or not, at least there’s finally a set cast and director, which is more than we could say a few months ago.

The original story is over on IGN.

If you can’t get enough Uncharted, you still have some time to download Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection for absolutely freesies as part of the PlayStation Play at Home initiative. Stay tuned to GameSkinny for more Uncharted movie news as it develops.
