One of the biggest ironies of the Transformers series is its tagline: Robots in Disguise. The irony being that, despite taking disguises to hide from their enemies, said enemies always instantly recognize them. It’s the same for us. We’d easily be able to spot Optimus Prime or Bumblebee regardless of what form they took. Which is why it’s almost hilarious that a port of PS3/Xbox 360 title, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron has managed to sneak past us.
Yes, the third-person shooter sequel starring many familiar faces from the Transformers universe has arrived on both PS4 and Xbox One completely out of nowhere, with no official announcement from Sony, Microsoft or even the game’s original publisher Activision. What’s even stranger is that game is currently only available to download in Australia, with no word currently on when it will arrive elsewhere.
It’s also unknown how these ports have been enhanced, but we do know that they come with three DLC packs – the Multiplayer Havoc Pack, DINOBOT Destructor Pack, and Massive Fury Pack.
Developed by High Moon Studios, this title continued the story from 2010’s War for Cybertron and revealed how the war between the Autobots and Decepticons soon led to Cybertron’s destruction. You were allowed to play as both teams in differing campaigns, with a wide range of playable characters to choose from, including newcomers like fan favorite Grimlock, leader of the Dinobots.
