Kitfox Games’ much acclaimed survival strategy title for iOS and Android, Shattered Planet, has touched down on the greener side: Steam Greenlight. Shattered Planet is a game of death, loot, and exploration. The way it usually happens is you explore for loot and die trying. Multiple times. Can I have my soul back now?
The Captain of Kitfox Games and industry veteran, Tanya X Short, has posted the following description on the Greenlight page for Shattered Planet.
A challenging roguelike set on beautiful alien worlds.
“in the sweet spot between learnability and surprise that keeps each trip new, fresh, and entertaining.” 4.5 / 5 stars – Gamezebo
“Frankly beautiful” – CNET Australia
“Kitfox Games has gone all out to refine the old ‘explore-die-explore’ routine, making a hugely re-playable, and more enjoyable, experience.” – Super Game Droid
Fight or catch aliens and collect crazy loot. Explore a dangerous galaxy and try to survive! It’s a deadly world out there, and it’s randomly different every time. The Galactic Union’s job for you is clear: research the alien wildlife — for science! But a strange signal is beckoning past hordes of monsters. And every time you die, your items are gone for good.
Features:
* Completely procedurally generated levels
* 100+ items, from swords to cookies to grenades
* Dozens of alien monsters to fight or befriendA free-to-play version on iOS and Android is available for download now. However, the Steam version will include improved graphics, plus major new features not seen in mobile versions:
* Class system – each clone skin will have a different special starting ability
* Daily Challenge – earn Crystals by trying to beat a daily seed
* Pet cloning – maintain your companion DNA in mini-clone vats
I for one can not wait to see, hear, and experience death and looting on a larger screen.
