Hold on to your seats, because Goat Simulator is about to get even weirder.
The upcoming patch of the popular (and ridiculous) goat RPG will include a free MMO expansion according to its maker, Coffee Stain Studios. The developer released a new video today showing off the expansion’s fantasy theme and gameplay, both of which are reminiscent of World of Warcraft (except, you know, you’re a goat). The release date for the patch/DLC via Steam is Thursday, November 20th.
Also new is the class system, which will include the usual rogue, mage, hunter, etc, but also a goat-microwave hybrid that’s just a bit frightening to behold.
The video features new gear that your goat will be able to equip and weapons like exploding playing cards. Also new is the class system, which will include the usual rogue, mage, hunter, etc, but also a goat-microwave hybrid that’s just a bit frightening to behold.
Goat Simulator has sold over 1 million copies since it debuted in April, and over 100,000 mobile downloads since it was released on iOS and Android on September 17th.
It remains to be seen whether the game’s new quest system will actually be compelling gameplay, or if the battle system is more sophisticated than simply headbutting things with your horns. For the time being, the developer seems content with just making the game as weird and tongue-in-cheek as possible.
