“She’s gotta gut fulla’ dynamite and a booty like POW~!”
Move over Mushy Snugglebites, the biggest, most badass Umber witch of all is back in the game, and boasting a dramatic new ‘do.
Inspired by the slightly campy third-person hack-and-slash success of Devil May Cry, the original Bayonetta was svelte, stacked, and sexy like none other. Released on the PS3 and the Xbox 360 to high critical praise, the game and sexy Bayonetta with her librarian glasses and tactical ‘rearranging’ of magical demon hair leapt to instant fancrush status. Perhaps even too much fancrush status.
With the news that Bayonetta 2 is to be released as a Wii U exclusive having been out for about a month, fans had taken to Twitter to sort out the mixed rumors surrounding the possibility of Bayonetta appearing in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Loudly. Incessantly. Everywhere.
So much so that Hideki Kamiya, the man behind such titles as Bayonetta, The Wonderful 101, and Okami took to Twitter to one on one inform as many eager fans as possible, to, literally, f*** off.
I couldn’t help it. I lol’d. Whole-heartedly.
Well, the wait is over and E3 is upon us. There may be no Bayonetta demon-fist-punching Pikachu into a pit of lava, but there is a new Bayonetta 2 trailer out making or breaking new fancrush hearts as the newly shorn Bayonetta smashes her way through Angels and giant monsters alike. Fighting alongside her is Jeanne, who looks like she might have done her best to step into Bayonetta’s swanky skintight boots in terms of growing out her flowing white Final Fantasy hair.
There’s still signs of the FPS drops of the first game, and the inescapable backside and upskirt camera views, but Bayonetta 2 is shaping up to look absolutely awesome. And while I mourn the lost ziggurat ponytail of yore, Bayonetta is working the cropped cap with the same amount of sass as ever.
Hideki Kamiya? That hair? Good call, sir. Good call.
