It’s a collaboration between Studio Trigger and Netflix set for release in 2022, and there are several anime luminaries attached to the project according to Gematsu.

Hiroyuki Imaishi (Kill la Kill, Promare) will act as director, with Masahiko Otsuka (Promare, Gurren Lagann) as co-director. Kill la Kill‘s Hiromi Wakabayashi is creative director, while Little Witch Academia‘s Yuto Kaneko and Yoh Yoshinari serve as character designers.

Finally, the anime’s composer is Akira Yamaoka of Silent Hill fame.

The goal with Cyberpunk Edgerunners is to explore more of the Cyberpunk lore and side stories than the developers can fit into the game. And there’s a lot of Cyberpunk lore, as evidenced by CD Projekt Red’s Pavel Sasko’s massive notebook full of gameplay ideas about Cyberpunk‘s story and side quests.

Today’s Night City Wire also gave us a look at Cyberpunk‘s prologue (and Keanu Reeves) along with a big look at how braindancing works in Cyberpunk.
