As some of you may already know, Valkyria: Azure Revolution has just released its PS4 demo in Japan. In time with the demo, Sega also released a new trailer detailing “The Four Commanders of the Rus Empire,” Azure Revolution‘s main baddies. Oh, and did I mention that they have giant mechs?

The first Commander shown is Balthius Greppenberg. The youngest of the Commanders — and voiced by Kenji Nojima — Balthius is a sly character who is adept at both diplomacy and combat.

Next is Gustav Mechlenburg — voiced by Toshihiko Seki. Mechlenburg serves as the Minister of the Navy and excels at using Magic Machinery, the giant mecha built to imitate living and magical beasts.

Next up is Viktor Timashev, number two in the hierarchy of The Four Commanders, Head of the Army General Staff Headquarters and Minister of Home Affairs. Voiced by Atsuki Tani, Viktor idolizes crown prince Claudius and has helped the Empire’s conquest with his brilliant tactical skill.

The leader of The Four Commanders is Gilouche Benckendorff, who is the Minister of War and the general of the army. Voiced by Tesshou Genda, Gilouche, who is also the foster brother of Claudius, has always been his brother’s loyal follower, ever since Claudius’ ascension to the throne.

Each Commander will have their own Magic Machinery, shaped in various beast forms and (seemingly) woefully outmatch our heroes in power and size. But judging from previous Valkyria games, the Magic Machinery’s ragnite, a magical stone used as a source for energy and healing in the game, will be the key to defeating these big bads.

In Azure Revolution, you will play as Amleth, a young boy raised in an orphanage. As a boy, Amleth was really close with his teacher at the orphanage, Maria Schmeichel, who everyone called “Teacher Mary,” whose actions ultimately led to the destruction of the series’ orphanage.

Amleth later vowed to destroy the Empire as a revenge for the orphanage raid incident. During Azure Revolution, Amleth will lead the Vanargand, an anti-Valkyria special unit of Jutland Kingdom. Players can also customized the Vanargand member’s skills and equipment.

Valkyria: Azure Revolution will see be released in Japan on January 19, 2017 on Playstation 4 and Playstation Vita. It will hit western shores  as Valkyria Revolution in Q2 of 2017 on Playstation 4, Vita and Xbox One.
