Long awaiting Android users finally got their version of Injustice: Gods Among Us just last month. But, part of the Injustice experience are the Challenge Modes were a player can win special characters or skins.

Rumors turn into reality as the Martian Manhunter finally joins the mobile roster this month for iOS devices. Android users will be playing for a gold level Batgirl.

One could hope this means in addition to adding more challenge levels, that perhaps opportunity will come to retry past challenges for missed opportunities. Or this may simply mean that Android users will just always be on their own schedule

iOS Invader From Mars

Martian Manhunter was one of the first DLC characters for Injustice and considered by many comic books fans as an integral part of the Justice League, since he was a charter member – along with Green Arrow and Flash. So, adding J’onn to the roster seems only natural.

The mobile app’s more limited starting roster would mean he would have to wait a little longer before joining the ranks. Initially, he was only a Support Card.

J’onzz’s powers primarily center around his ability to shape-shift and become intangible to move through walls as well as having telekinetic power. His in-game special attacks from the console versions feature these powers.

For each challenge level you win, you get a part of J‘onn’s gear (Boots, Rock of Mars, Mantle, Medallion, and Cape). Once you have won all five challenges, a Gold Level Martian Manhunter is added to your collection.

For Those Who Are New

If you’ve not seen or played a Challenge Mode before, they are a separate series of 5 challenges, totaling 63 battles in all.

Challenge Mode fights must be paid for in Challenge Credits. Initially you will receive 25 free Challenge Credits and you can earn more Credits playing Story Battles. But, if you get stuck, NetherRealm is happy to sell you more in Injustice’s DLC Shop.

As you progress, you also get consolation prizes –

  • Complete 2 Challenges – Free Bronze Booster Pack (worth 8,000 credits)
  • Complete 3 Challenges – +15,000 Power Credits
  • Complete 4 Challenges – Free Silver Booster Pack (worth 35,000 credits)

And a recently NetherRealms added new feature for those who find the Standard challenge a cakewalk. You can retake the challenge in harder modes, from Expert to the insane Nightmare – earning more prizes and potentially making your gold card an Elite.

Batgirl Fights For Android

Barbara Gordon, the daughter of Gotham City Police commissioner James Gordon, dons cape and cowl to aid Batman in his fight against crime. Despite the original DC continuity that she was paralyzed after being viciously shot in the spine by The Joker, the New 52 stories and Injustice have given her back her physical abilities.

In the Injustice storyline, she is a tech wizard helping Batman’s Insurgency after her father’s death at the hands of the Regime. And now, you can add her to your roster.

For each Android challenge you win, you get a part of Batgirl’s gear (Utility Belt, Gauntlet, Grappling Gun, Cape, and Cowl). Once you have won all five challenges, a Gold Level Batgirl is added to your collection.
