With E3 just around the corner, more and more games have been getting revealed. Rumors of a sequel to the DC Comics fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us have been building up after GameStop received posters with the game’s alleged logo on it. To put an end to the rumors, Warner Brothers officially announced Injustice 2 with this trailer.

The original Injustice came out in 2013 and was based in an alternate universe where the Joker tricked Superman into killing Lois Lane. Following that, Superman creates a new world order and Batman creates a team to stop him.

Injustice 2 continues the epic cinematic story introduced in Injustice: Gods Among Us as Batman and his allies work towards putting the pieces of society back together while struggling against those who want to restore Superman’s regime. In the midst of the chaos, a new threat appears that will put Earth’s existence at risk.

In addition to the heroes that were introduced in the original Injustice, several new characters will be added — including Gorilla Grodd and Atrocitus.

If you have the Injustice: Gods Among Us mobile game, you can unlock Injustice 2 skins for Superman and Aquaman through in-game challenge modes.

The game is set to release in 2017 for Xbox One and Playstation 4. Hopefully we will see more of Injustice 2 at E3 next week.
