Sharkmob is putting a vampiric twist on battle royale with a new Vampire: The Masquerade battle royale game. It’s still early days, and launch isn’t expected until sometime in late 2021, but Sharkmob provided a brief pre-alpha trailer and overview of what fans of the World of Darkness series can expect.
Vampire battle royale takes place “across the streets and rooftops of Prague,” where factions of vampires are at war with each other. Both guns and melee weapons feature heavily in the early footage.
Here’s our first glimpse at the project, however short.
The description reads:
Choose your playstyle, go solo or together, battling rivals and the hostile Entity who’s hellbent on exterminating all vampires. Use your supernatural powers, weapons and blood to become stronger in order to hunt, fight and survive the night.
Sharkmob formed in 2018 with team members from IO Interactive and Ubisoft. It’s unaffiliated with Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2 developer Hardsuit Labs, and it seems safe to say Vampire battle royale is the non-single-player licensed IP the studio teased when it was first formed.
There’s also no word on what platforms the battle royale game will come to or how much it will cost.
Meanwhile, Bloodlines 2 still has no solid release date following a series of delays. Stay tuned to GameSkinny for more Vampire: The Masquerade news as it develops.
