So you just finished watching the new trailer for Nintendo Switch. You think, “Awesome! A portable home console! Where can I get one?” To Google you lept, scrubbing store pages for any indication of a pre-order button.
Amazon has it listed, but there’s no price and it cannot be pre-ordered yet. What a bummer. On the plus side, however, Amazon lets you sign up for notifications on the Nintendo Switch’s availability.
With no luck from Amazon, you’ve likely checked your local video game retailer. Gamestop doesn’t have it listed, but we called, and they said they should have it soon. (Take that as you will.)
Best Buy’s list is also suspiciously absent, but it should be up soon. I imagine around the same time as GameStop. GAME stores in the UK don’t even have a pre-order listing. You can be sure Wal-Mart and Target don’t have it up for pre-order, either.
That’s because you cannot pre-order the Nintendo Switch at this time. It doesn’t even have a price point yet, all rumors aside. (Which, by the way, rumors suggest the Nintendo Switch should cost around $450 USD.)
Nor may you pre-order the sleek Nintendo Switch Pro Controller that they showed off during the Splatoon segment of the reveal trailer. Heartbreaking, I know — Pro Controllers fitted with gyro sensors are so long overdue they should have happened yesterday.
And no, you may not yet pre-order that snazzy car-mount showed off during the Mario Kart 8 portion. There’s not even any official information on it floating around yet.
Nintendo has not yet released any information on the Nintendo Switch outside of the three-and-a-half minute reveal trailer. What they have revealed, however, is intriguing to say the least.
