Last week, we found out fan-favorite characters Coen and Lambert will be added to the cast of The Witcher’s second season, and now we’ve got another round of character confirmations straight from Netflix.

In addition to Henry Cavill returning as Geralt, Joey Batey as Jaskier (Dandelion from the game series), and Anya Chalotra as the wildly-driven quarter-elf sorceress Yennefer, seven new characters are joining The Witcher Season 2:

  • Coen  Yasen Atour (Young Wallender
  • Lambert  Paul Bullion (Peaky Blinders)
  • Eskel  Thue Ersted Rasmussen (Fast and Furious 9)
  • Lydia  Aisha Fabienne Ross (The Danish Girl)
  • Nivellen  Kristofer Hivju (Game of Thrones)
  • Francesca  Mecia Simson (He Who Has It All)
  • Vereena  Agnes Bjorn

Sadly, there’s still been no news about consummate Jedi and veteran game voice actor Mark Hamill joining as Vesemir (get on it already Netflix, the fans have spoken!).

The first two episodes of The Witcher Season 2 will be directed by Umbrella Academy and Lost In Space director Stephen Surjik. According to IMDB, the second season will have eight episodes. Currently, the episodes carry a 2021 release window on the movie database, though that air date has not been confirmed by Netflix.

We do know about an animated film set to hit Netflix ahead of the season’s launch, though. It will explore a certain important Witcher character facing a new threat to the Continent.
