StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm is on the way, and Blizzard wants you to get pumped. They’ve released the expansion’s opening cinematic on YouTube for all to enjoy. Even if you don’t care for StarCraft, the beautiful CG that Blizzard is so well known for is worth the watch if you’re in the mood for some eye candy.
Let’s not argue over how the video’s not accurate from a balance perspective. Let’s just focus on how cool the Ultralisks look here — which is amazing.
We’ve still got a while to wait for Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm, with its release date sitting firm on March 12. As to be expected of a Blizzard title, there are several ways to purchase the game, some of which have goodies for players’ Diablo 3 and World of Warcraft accounts. The game allegedly has several improvements over the Wings of Liberty that even the newest player can appreciate.

As a long-time StarCraft fan, I hope Heart of the Swarm can reinvigorate SC2‘s community. The way Blizzard has been handling the game over the past couple of years has lead to a slow decrease in popularity, and it’s even lost several professional players. Maybe this will be what the game needs to get back on top.
