Fortnite‘s Fortnitemares Storm King is a mighty foe; it’s the kind you would typically find at the end of a massive JRPG or MMO raid instead of within a battle royale game. Nevertheless, here we are. And you’re going to need to know how to beat Storm King and render him disabled.
This is one of the challenges available in the Fortnitemares Limited Time Event. It’s technically the last challenge on the list, but you can jump into the fray whenever you feel like it.
In the strategy guide below, we show you where Storm King is, as well as how to beat him and what to expect from his phases. If you want to see the other challenges in the Fortnitemares event, alongside their rewards, be sure to head over to this guide.
Where is Storm King in Fortnite?
There are technically two challenges relating to this demonic being. The first one is to deal a whopping 10,000 damage to his weak points, while the second is to defeat him.
You can get involved with this fight by selecting it as a mode from within the battle royale portion of Fortnite. Once you have, simply select play and you’ll be joined by three other players in your squad, as well as a bunch of others hoping to best the Storm King.
You’ll be dropped near the center of the map, and you’ll actually be fighting the Fortnite Storm King on the small island at the very center. As you glide in, keep an eye out for loot llamas stuck in the trees in the area around the small island and then check the chests that are on the island itself.
The fight goes through a few different phases, so it’s important to know what to do during each one.
How to Beat Storm King in Fortnite
Storm King Phase 1
The first phase that will occur is the Weakpoints phase. This is where you’ll have to shoot at glowing spots on the Storm King’s body in order to make him vulnerable.
Once you’ve destroyed the first weakpoint, crystals will spawn on the map. These will spawn zombies constantly, and it’s worth focusing your attention and firepower on them until they’re destroyed. Otherwise, you’ll get overwhelmed.
It’s worth noting that the zombies are an excellent source of loot. You can get ammo, new guns, healing items, and even the occasional turret by defeating them. So keep that in mind if you’re running low on anything at all.
Storm King Phase 2
Once you’ve done this three times, you’ll have the chance to attack one of the Storm King Horns. If you can destroy it, then you’ll be able to move straight onto attacking the second horn. However, it’s much more likely that you’ll have to go through the weakpoint cycle a few times to destroy both of the Storm King Horns.
Storm King Phase 3
Once you’ve done so, you’ll be able to destroy the Storm King for real. His entire body will now be vulnerable. You should have been able to collect a turret by this point, so build up some platforms away from other people and lay down the turret.
This will allow you to dole out a huge amount of damage without expending ammo. Just be on the lookout for his directed attacks, as he can wipe you out in one or two hits if he wants to.
Once you’ve destroyed him, you’ll have accomplished the challenge of killing him, though you may need another round or two to finish the weakpoints challenge. You should have also netted yourself a lot of experience on the way, so congratulations!
