Owners of the Nintendo Switch needn’t fret that they will be getting a raw deal compared to their Rocket League buddies on PS4, PC, and Xbox One. On the the last day of E3, developer Psyonix confirmed the frame rates in an interview with Gamespot.
According to the exclusive statement:
…with regard to how it’ll look and perform, Psyonix VP Jeremy Dunham stated in an interview with GameSpot that the Switch version will run at 720p with a consistent 60 frames per second whether the console is docked or undocked.
This is welcome news for Nintendo console owners, who in have often received inferior ports of games in the past. Rocket League is also set to be playable with other consoles online via cross platform compatibility — but we’ll have to wait and see if that pans out, given Sony’s recent refusal to allow Minecraft crossplay on PS4.
Stay tuned to GameSkinny for more updates about Rocket League for the Switch and its crossplay capabilities as we move closer to its release window during the holiday season of this year.
