Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is one the best Star Wars games in the EA catalog, and it just received a free next-gen patch on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Joining the like of No Man’s Sky, Days Gone, and Borderlands 3, Fallen Order now has improved framerates and postprocessing. Tweaks have also been made to dynamic resolutions on both next-gen platforms.
Here’s a quick rundown of the patch for both Xbox Series X|S and PS5 per an official statement from EA.
Xbox Series S
- Framerate has been increased to 60 FPS (up from 45 FPS)
Xbox Series X Performance mode
- Framerate has been increased to 60 FPS
- Dynamic resolution added in the range of 1080p to 1440p
Xbox Series X Normal mode (non-performance mode)
- Postprocessing has been increased to 4K
- Dynamic resolution in the range of 1512p to 2160p
PlayStation [5]
- Framerate has been increased to 60 FPS (up from 45 FPS)
- Postprocessing increased to 1440p
- Dynamic resolution has been disabled and the game is rendering at 1200p (up from 810-1080p)
We enjoyed Fallen Order‘s “Metroidvania world” when we reviewed it back in 2019, so it’s great to see the game getting some next-gen love. If you’ve yet to check out what we called “an amazing single-player Star Wars game,” Fallen Order is currently $23.99 on the PlayStation Store. It’s still full price, $59.99, on the Microsoft Store, but it’s included in EA Play, which is part of Game Pass Ultimate on console.
