Treasure Hunt has been an activity in Final Fantasy XIV since the release of 2.1, and oftentimes, finding maps can lead you to special event zones that function as mini-dungeons. Endwalker previously Excitatron 6000, and now Patch 6.3 is adding another Treasure Hunt dungeon, The Shifting Gymnasion of Agonon. Before you can get there, however, you’ll need to get your hands on a Timeworn Ophiotauroskin Map.
How to Get Timeworn Ophiotauroskin Treasure Maps in FFXIV
There are currently two locations that yield Ophiotauroskin Maps:
- Ultima Thule.
- Elpis.
Because the treasure map will always lead you to Elpis, however, it’s generally a better idea to focus there.
The maps can be found by interacting with Level 90 gathering nodes, although there’s only a chance a map will appear each time you gather. This means you’ll need a Botanist or Miner to find the gathering nodes. You might need to poke around a little, but eventually, you’ll find one, and can then track down that sweet treasure.
How Often Can You Get Maps?
There are two more details to keep in mind. Like other Treasure Maps, you can only gather one Ophiotauroskin map every 18 hours, and you can find how long you have to wait by heading to Duty Timers from the main menu and finding “Next Map Allowance. Also, keep in mind that using an Ophiotauroskin map doesn’t guarantee that the Treasure dungeon will appear, as again, there’s only a chance of it happening.
Now you should have everything you need to get out there and get your hands on a few maps. For even more Final Fantasy XIV tips and tricks, check out our dedicated hub page.
