Remnant 2: How to Upgrade Relics

Increase your survivability and learn how to upgrade your relic in Remnant 2 with this guide!

Knowing how to upgrade Relics in Remnant 2 can increase your survivability because of their healing effects. The first one you receive is the Dragon Heart, but as you progress through the game’s various worlds fighting back the Root, you can find more that give different kinds of healing effects. Upgrades can be earned fairly early, and I was able to grab one before I even finished my first world.

To upgrade Relics in Remnant 2, you’ll need to visit Wallace at the docks in Ward 13. The first option in his inventory is the one you’re looking for. However, Relic upgrades require three materials:

  • Scrap
  • Simulacrum
  • Lumenite Crystal

How to Get Scrap

Starting from the top, Scrap is the basic currency in Remnant 2. You can pick it up from defeated enemies, find it in chests, or sell items for it. It can be rare, but as you play, you’ll come across more and more of it.

How to Get Simulacrum

Simulacrum can be purchased with Scrap. You’ll want to find Cass in Ward 13 after she wakes up from her treatment, and she’ll become a vendor with just a few items. Those items include Simulacrum, which costs 1,500 Scrap.

Additionally, you can find this upgrade item out in the world, denoted by the same yellow glow that indicates Iron. However, it’s incredibly rare. I only found one in my entire playthrough of Yaesha. It was near the lever for the Water Harp Puzzle, but it’s possible it won’t be in the same location for you because of the game’s RNG.

How to Get Lumenite Crystals

Finally, you’ll need Lumenite Crystals. These are materials that are dropped by powerful enemies and elites, such as the flying laser squid-like creatures on N’Erud or the teleporting crossbow enemies in Yaesha, just to name a few. These enemies are where I got most of my Lumenite Crystals, using checkpoints to farm them. You can also sometimes find these in chests, and they drop from bosses.

Since the upgrade increases the number of charges you have, knowing how to upgrade your Relic is critical. Healing in Remnant 2 is limited for non-medic archetypes. And while there are rings that increase the number of charges you have, as well as boost healing in other capacities, they’re random and rare finds. From here, you can check out more Remnant 2 guides as we join you in a journey across worlds.
