There are dozens of unique weapons hidden throughout the worlds of Remnant 2. Claiming some of them is a simple matter of finding a key and opening a door, while others, like the Atom Splitter, require literally death-defying feats. The Atom Splitter itself is a massive, two-handed sword charged with electromagnetic energy with good combo potential and the ability to shoot an energy wave after a neutral backstep. It also looks badass and sports some of the highest melee damage in the game (that I’ve been able to find, at least). Here’s how to get the Atom Splitter in Remnant 2.
How to Get the Atom Splitter Melee Weapon in Remnant 2
- The Atom Splitter can be found in the Vault of the Formless.
- You won’t have to take down a boss to get this weapon, making it one of the easier ones to obtain.
There’s a dungeon on the world of N’Erud is a dungeon called the Vault of the Formless, and besides its several locked doors, there’s another secret waiting for you. As dungeons in Remnant 2 seem less randomized than the overworld, finding the Atom Splitter is a simple matter of knowing where to go and what to do.
Once you arrive in Vault of the Formless, you need to travel past the first rotating cylinder covered in pods, and you’ll eventually reach an overhang looking out over a death pit. You’re in the right place if the giant crane machine is moving the pod sections into the fog near the chamber’s ceiling.
You need to jump down and ride one of the pod sections up to a platform above and to your right.
Mistime or misjudge the distance of the jump, and you’ll get kicked back to the checkpoint, but thankfully you aren’t far from it, so runbacks won’t take too long. I died quite a few times trying to get the timing and distance down, but once I managed the jump, it’s a simple jump onto the upper platform followed by a right turn. You’ll find the Atom Splitter lodged in a bit of machinery, just waiting for you to claim it.
Now you know how to get the Atom Splitter in Remnant 2. It’s one of the easier ones, but it’s also easy to miss if you didn’t think you could jump onto the pod sections.
