During Season of the Malignant in Diablo 4, you can use ichor dropped from the corrupted to make Malignant Invokers. They can be used at the end of Malignant Tunnels to get their respective Malignant Heart. This is especially useful since hearts can only be slotted into matching sockets. Here’s how to make each of the three Malignant Invokers, as well as unlocking Malignant crafting in D4.
How to Make Malignant Invokers in Diablo 4
You need to complete the first quest of the season storyline before you can get to crafting Malignant Invokers. The second quest, A Plague of Hatred, teaches you how to make them and grants you access to Cormond’s Workbench. You’ll need to go to one of his workbenches throughout Sanctuary whenever you want to craft a Malignant Invoker, as well as other Malignant Items.
Before you can produce any Malignant Invokers, you’ll need the correct ingredients. Regardless of the type you want, you need Brutal, Devious and Viscous Ichor at varying amounts. These typically drop from Malignant Elites, as well as the mobs that accompany them. Farming Malignant Tunnels is the fastest way to procure a large amount of Malignant Ichor.
Once you have the requisite ichor, head to Cormond’s Workbench and select the relevant Malignant Invoker you wish to craft.
How to Make a Brutal Malignant Invoker
To make a Brutal Malignant Invoker, which is blue, you’ll need:
- Brutal Malignant Ichor x50
- Devious Malignant Ichor x20
- Viscous Malignant Ichor x20
How to Make a Devious Malignant Invoker
To craft a Devious Malignant Invoker, which is purple, you’ll need:
- Brutal Malignant Ichor x20
- Devious Malignant Ichor x50
- Viscous Malignant Ichor x20
How to Make a Viscous Malignant Invoker
You’ll need the following amounts of ichor to produce an orange Viscous Malignant Invoker:
- Brutal Malignant Ichor x20
- Devious Malignant Ichor x20
- Viscous Malignant Ichor x50
Each invoker costs 1,000 gold for creation fees. The completed invoker will be sent to your Consumables inventory, ready for use at the end of a Malignant Tunnel. It’s a good idea to have one of each type on hand given the Malignant Pustules can only have two of the types and they’re unknown until you get to the end of the dungeon.
That’s how to create each type of Malignant Invoker in Diablo 4’s Season of the Malignant. For more on the first season of Diablo 4, as well as stronghold walkthroughs, cellar locations, etc., check out our full game guide hub.
