Microsoft’s Xbox One launches at midnight, but is it worth getting? At this point, I would say no. Dead Rising 3 looks like it will be a great game, but the other exclusives don’t seem that great in my opinion. To see for yourself, check out this IGN wiki. Plus, there isn’t as much indie support as the PS4. This might cause a lot of people to choose PS4 over Xbox.
If you really want a next-gen console, and the PS4 isn’t for you, then the Xbox One is your only option. I believe it would be better to wait, considering most of the launch games can be played on current consoles.
Most consoles are like this on launch. There are usually not many exclusives, or they may not stand out. There are single games that I would buy a console for, but none of these launch titles are those games. Of course, some people may actually love these titles. In that instance I say go for it.
I do believe the Xbox One is worth it in the long run though. There are huge exclusive titles coming out next year like Titanfall, Project: Spark, and Halo. Not to mention other hits like Kingdom Hearts III, Final Fantasy XV, and Dragon Age Inquisition. These may not be exclusive, but they still make getting Xbox One worth it.
I want this game right now.
In the end, I would say get an Xbox One if you can afford it now and really want it. If you are on the fence, or only want it for upcoming titles, then wait.
What do you think of the Xbox One, or next-gen in general? Are you excited for tonight’s launch? Let me know in the comments.
