It’s not easy to be a Victim in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Victims not only need to survive the assault of the Family but also find the quickest way out of the area. Fortunately, each has a unique Victim ability and a whole set of perks that can help you and the rest of the Victims escape. Our guide will provide you with a tier list of all Victims ranked in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, including their abilities and the most useful perks.
Best Texas Chainsaw Massacre Victims Tier List
S-Tier Victims
Ana Flores
In many ways, Ana is the main character of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Her Pain is Nothing ability reduces damage from attacks and falls, making her one of the only Victims who can withstand an overhead swing from Leatherface. She’s a tank in the truest sense.
Ana lacks Proficiency and Stealth, so choosing perks that increase those attributes isn’t the worst idea. However, Ana functions best as a fighter. With a perk like Choose Fight equipped, she’s nearly unstoppable. Jumping through windows and distracting family members is how she primarily helps the team.
Ability | Description |
---|---|
Pain Is Nothing | While active, significantly reduces damage taken from attacks and falls while also granting immunity to the effect of poison. |
Maria Flores
After surviving in the depths of the Slaughter family basement for so long, Maria easily earns S-tier status alongside her sister, Ana. Her Sweet Talk ability can turn the tide of a match, causing Grandpa’s Sonar ability to highlight Killers instead of Victims. It allows for strategic pushing when you’d otherwise have to stay still or risk being spotted by Grandpa.
With exceptionally high starting Toughness and Strength, Maria can take hits and fend off the Family. Perks like No Sell only increase her tankiness, while special Grandpa-focused perks like Blood Clot Cry allow her to passively heal when the Slaughter family patriarch screams.
Ability | Description |
---|---|
Sweet Talk | Causes Grandpa’s Sonar ability to highlight Family members instead of Victims. |
Connie Taylor
Connie’s Focus ability lets you almost instantly unlock any exit door, which leads to fast wins. While her Proficiency shines, Connie’s lower Strength and Toughness stats make her pretty squishy. Unless you decide to invest in attributes and perks that negate her weaknesses, stealth gameplay is the better choice.
As an effective counter to Cook, Connie is vital to have on your team. Perks like Efficient Locksmith can be handy for rushing exits, while Extra Drip quickly replenishes any damage you might receive and ensures there are plenty of health bottles available for other Victims.
Ability | Description |
---|---|
Focused | Allows a door to be unlocked almost instantly, but stamina and Family proximity warning are negatively impacted. |
A-Tier Victims
Leland McKinney
If you want to be good at playing Leland, then you need to be really aggressive and attack family members whenever you get the chance. This kind of strategy is dictated by his Life Saver ability, which knocks Family members to the ground and stuns Leatherface. Much like Ana, Leland is a Victim meant to distract while other Victims work on opening exits.
With perks like No Fight, Leland can grapple and distract his way to victory. Chip damage from attacking Family is still a concern, so if you’re worried, consider using No Sell and spec into his Toughness.
Ability | Description |
---|---|
Life Saver | Defend yourself or teammates by knocking down and stunning Family members. |
Virginia
With near-equal Toughness, Endurance, and Proficiency, Virginia is one of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre‘s more well-rounded characters. However, it’s her Boon ability that truly steals the show. Throwing powder can completely drain Family members’ blood vials, consume their stamina, or heal fellow Victims, depending on how you decide to level it up. Her ability even effects Leatherface, making her the only Victim besides Leland who can take him on head-to-head if need be.
Virginia has a host of unique perks that play into her Boon ability, but other options, like Fast Hands, can help crack open exit doors faster. You could also equip Medicinal Benefits to improve healing and play into her nursing backstory.
Ability | Description |
---|---|
Boon | Throw powder found around the properties to blind Family members or contaminate blood buckets. |
B-Tier Victims
Danny Gaines
Danny’s Study and Tamper ability isn’t to be trifled with. Once he tampers exit objectives, like the Fuse Box or Valve, they stay open for much longer and increase the likelihood of Victims escaping. Unlocking Instant Study on the Skill Tree only makes tampering that much easier. What Danny lacks in Strength, he compensates for with Proficiency and Toughness.
While Fast Hands is a staple among Danny mains, he has a lot of perks no other Victims have, including Hare Or Meat, I Can Do This, Quick Exit, Get It Off Me, and I Know Engines, to name a few. However, Hands is a stellar counter to Danny, knocking his once S-tier ability down to B-tier.
Ability | Description |
---|---|
Study and Tamper | Build knowledge by studying objects, and use that knowledge to tamper with exit interactions. Tampered exits stay open or shutdown longer. |
Julie Crawford
Julie’s Ultimate Escape ability makes her invisible to Cook and Johnny. She also consumes a lot less stamina while running than any other Victim. Endurance and Stealth are Julie’s strengths, and as the runner of the group, it only makes sense to favor Endurance perks like Slippery.
While Julie’s speed is instrumental in escaping Family members, her ability really only helps you, which is why she sits far lower on the tier list than characters like Connie. Julie also has one of the lowest Strength stats in the game, so be mindful of that if choosing perks like Fight or Flight.
Ability | Description |
---|---|
Ultimate Escape | While active, grants immunity to tracking from The Cook and Johnny while greatly reducing stamina consumed from running. |
Sonny Williams
Sonny is the real underdog among the Victims, but he’s got the really strong Heightened Senses ability, which allows him to detect the locations of nearby Killers. His only drawback is overall frailty. With the lowest HP in the game, you might want to favor Toughness-based perks to even him out. Some recommendations include No Sell and Stunt Double.
Stunt Double can put Sonny on par with Ana. However, if a Proficiency-heavy character is more your jam, Sonny’s got some great perks for that. Just be sure to play more stealthily.
Ability | Description |
---|---|
Heightened Sense | Detect noise made by anyone nearby, pinpointing their location and tracking their movements. |
