Baldur’s Gate 3: How to Complete Find Your Belongings

Have you become a victim of pickpocketing in Emerald Grove during Act 1? Your actions in this section of the game can result in some of your items going missing. Follow these steps if you want to know how to complete Find Your Belongings in Baldur’s Gate 3 and retrieve what’s been stolen from you.

How to Complete Find Your Belongings in Baldur’s Gate 3

Find Your Belongings is a quest you get in Emerald Grove if you speak with Mattis and end up as a victim of his pickpocketing scam.

Find Your Belongings Quest Walkthrough

Mattis is a vendor in Emerald Grove located on the path between the Hollow and the Sacred Pool. If you speak with him and either fall for his ring scam or browse his items, another Tiefling child will pickpocket you. Depending on your rolls, you might realize you’re being robbed. But if the kid succeeds, he’ll run away with your items even if you call him out on stealing.

Save Mirkon From Harpies

You can follow him if you have a way to use Reduce Size or are a smaller race. If you don’t, then you’ll want to head to the beach located directly left of the stairs leading into the Sacred Pool and into the Secluded Cove where you’ll receive a quest called “Investigate the Beach.” Follow the path and speak with Mirkon next to the water.

This will trigger a fight with Harpies. Defeat them while interrupting the Luring Song so that Mirkon can run away. If the song isn’t stopped, he’ll keep moving closer to the Harpies and they can kill him. Also, if one Harpy stops the song, another will start the Luring Song again if there’s more than one alive.

Receive Entrance to the Tiefling Hideout

Speak with Mirkon after the fight and he’ll tell you to speak with Doni, another Tiefling child, to allow you access to the “Dragon’s Lair” so you can meet Mol. Head back to Mattis’ location and you’ll find Doni by the wagon with chests in it on that same path. Doni shows you a Concealed Hatch, and you’ll want to go inside.

Now you’ll be in the Tiefling Hideout where Mol is talking about plans for Baldur’s Gate with other children. Speak with her to request your belongings be returned to you. She’ll offer to teach you a gesture that keeps the kids from scamming you in the future, and you’ll need to pass an Intelligence Check for it.
