Bethesda has released the notes for Starfield update 1.7.29. It’s a small patch that mostly deals with increasing stability and fixes bugs for certain quests. Along with the patch notes is a short letter detailing what to expect in the future, as well as a thank you to players. Here’s what’s to come and what was fixes in update 1.7.29 for Starfield.
Update 1.7.29 Patch Notes
In this update, the main focus was on improving stability for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S in regards to installation as well as framerate. The adjustments aim at reducing crashes for those playing on the console. For PC players, the team is working on number of updates and fixes. These include:
- Brightness and Contrast controls
- HDR Calibration Menu
- FOV Slider
- Nvidia DLSS Support (PC)
- 32:9 Ultrawide Monitor Support (PC)
- Eat button for food!
We’re also working closely with Nvidia, AMD, and Intel on driver support, and each update will include new stability and performance improvements.
Those that have experience issues where quests were blocked can rejoice. All That Money Can Buy, Into the Unknown, and Shadows in Neon have been fixed. Player activity or completing a quest after the main game is finished will no longer cause these quests to not register.
While the team at Bethesda is currently prioritizing the gameplay experience, bug fixes, and quality of life improvements, they state in the official patch notes that Starfield is a game they plan to support for many years and are listening to player feedback.
When it comes to mods, there’s already a plethora of PC options to chose from. Looking to stick with their own Creations modding system, full mod support is planned for release in the early part of 2024. Creations mods will work cross platform, allowing seamless integration with the game.
