NBA 2K24: How Timing Stability Works

This is how Timing Stability works in NBA 2K24.

As any NBA 2K24 player can tell you, timing is everything. If you mistime your three-point shot, it will likely bounce off the rim and end in a change of possession. If you mistime your block, you put yourself at risk of fouling and sending a good shooter to the line for easy points. In short, if you want to be successful on the court, it will come down to fine margins. Here’s how Timing Stability works in NBA 2K24 and how it will affect the in-game action.

As alluded to previously, Timing Stability is an attribute within NBA 2K24. Timing stability determines how well a player will maintain their timing throughout the game as they begin to lose stamina and fatigue sets in.

This means that the timing that results in a successful jumpshot earlier in a game can’t necessarily be replicated later in the game once the effects of fatigue start to set in, replacing the previous Shot Timing Impact option seen in previous installments.

In short, the higher your MyPlayer character’s Timing Stability is, the less variance you’ll see when timing up shots later in games. By contrast, if you have a lower Timing Stability rating, you will struggle to time up shots as your player becomes more tired.

How to Check Timing Stability

To check what your Timing Stability rating is, follow these steps:

  • Go to MyCareer
  • Go to MyPlayer
  • Select Animations
  • Select Jump Shot Creator

Upon reaching the Jump Shot Creator screen, your Timing Stability rating will be in the bottom right of the screen. These ratings seem to be based on the base motion of your shot.
