Zombie Studios will release Daylight soon, and it looks very promising. This survival-horror game, set for a Q1 2014 release, mixes up the genre by scaring gamers on a randomly generated map.
The game uses the Unreal 4 engine to generate any given scare. This is certainly a welcomed change to survival horror games, even if this technology was available before. If any genre can benefit from a randomly generated occurrence, the survival-horror genre is definitely a prime candidate.
Mid-Island Hospital is the setting of Daylight. Armed with a cell phone as your main source of protection, you must escape the abandoned hospital. You come across items such as a Bible, scissors, and a torch, but the phone will guide you to where you need to go.
The E3 trailer definitely created suspense and intrigue. There was no way to know what kind of game it would be, but it was creepy.
The new trailer looks fantastic, and I can’t wait to try it–or watch someone else from afar.
How do you feel about the upcoming Daylight? Excited about the random scares? Let me know in the comments!
