Paleo Pines is full of dinos to befriend and tame. You’ll meet your first ride-able dino, Lucky, when you begin the game. However, you can saddle every dinosaur you meet if you take care of your new buddy. Here’s our complete guide on how to saddle dinosaurs in Paleo Pines.
How to Saddle Dinosaurs in Paleo Pines
To ride and saddle a dinosaur, you’ll need to befriend the dino and make it a resident of your ranch. Then, you’ll need to increase your trust bond with the dino to Helper to be able to saddle it. You can only increase your trust with a dino by raising its happiness levels. Here’s how to increase your dino’s happiness to Helper:
- Give them a Pen.
- Pet them.
- Play their Friend Call on your Flute.
- Give them a Dreamstone.
- Feed them their preferred food.
- Take them on walks to their original biome.
I recommend you take these actions daily to reach Helper status. You’ll be notified of your dinos’ happiness levels in your daily journal notification when you wake up from sleeping. Once it’s officially a Helper, you’re ready to ride it. You begin the game with a free Saddle in your initial Pen, and you can purchase additional Saddles from Corlan in Pebble Plaza for 250 Gold. Here’s how to give the saddle to a dino.
- Approach the Helper dino.
- Equip the saddle from your inventory.
- Use your action key to apply the saddle to the dino.
Keep in mind that you’ll need to keep your dino’s happiness levels raised, or they’ll decrease and no longer be a Helper. I recommend that you check your journal for their happiness levels regularly, and change the dinosaur you ride out to the valley daily.
