Just as the microconsole is starting to take off co-founder Muffi Ghadiali has departed from the company.
Ghadiali left on his own accord
Ghadiali was one of the original masterminds behind the concept and development of Ouya–he worked on product and industrial design of the hardware and firmware development. According to a source at TechCrunch, Ghadiali left of his own free will, not because of some company reorganization of staff. The Ouya team did have this statement to explain the sudden change in crew:
“OUYA is focusing more on the next phase of the business and product development. We’ve made some recent changes including the departure of Muffi Ghadiali who was invaluable during the launch of OUYA. As is to be expected, OUYA is an ever-changing business, and as we continue to grow our needs shift accordingly.”
Ouya is changing rapidly and continuously
Ouya is a growing and changing company who didn’t get started on the best foot at its initial launch in June of last year (2013). We will have to continue to wait and see what’s next for the company, but as for any new company there will be mistakes and all is not lost for Ouya just yet.
