10. Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare - Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC
I love Plants Vs. Zombies and this new-gen title looks amazing. Not only is the game in full 3D but there is a ton of new features. You can play as the zombies now and also customize your plants and zombies. The game features 4-player co-op against waves of zombies and bosses, 24-player multiplayer where you choose between plants and zombies, and even a boss mode exclusively on Xbox One.
9. World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor - PC, Mac
Love it or hate it, WoW is a powerhouse in the MMO genre. The next expansion brings a much-needed update to character models as well as the ability to build and upgrade your own base. With a level cap increase to 100, and the ability to get a free level 90 when you pre-order, old and new players have a reason to join.
8. Elder Scrolls Online - PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4
People have mixed feelings on this popular series being turned into an MMO, but from what I've seen, Zenimax won't disappoint. It is important to note that not everything can translate easily to an MMO and there are sacrifices.
7. Persona 5 - PlayStation 3
Not much is known about this game, but Persona is one of my favorite RPG series. I loved Persona 4 so much that I'm sure I'll love the next one. There are a few things known, though. It showcases a different mood and tone, and it runs on a new game engine. It also takes place in high school like previous one, to keep familiarity.
6. Evolve - PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4
Turtle Rock Studios, the makers of Left 4 Dead, is developing Evolve. Left 4 Dead is one of my favorite co-op games and Evolve looks even better. Not only is it 4-player co-op against another player controlling the monster, the monster changes throughout the game. There are also four classes, each with multiple characters and their own loadouts and skills. Any fan of Left 4 Dead will love this new game.
5. Bravely Default - Nintendo 3DS
Old-school Final Fantasy fans rejoice! This game brings the classic JRPG back with style. With over twenty jobs to choose from and four characters, players will have plenty to do for a long time. Check out my article on the demo, then download it on the eShop.
4. Dragon Age: Inquisition - PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4
Bioware is one of my favorite companies, so it is no surprise that this made it on the list. Dragon Age is a great RPG series and the upcoming game looks amazing. There is a lot of customization, and I'm interested to see Bioware's new stance on "serious" romance.
3. WildStar - PC, Mac
WildStar is my most anticipated MMO of the year so far. The atmosphere, graphic style, game play, business model, and humor all contribute to one epic MMO. I love that you can trade in-game currency to players for game time. From what I've seen, I'll be playing a lot of WildStar when it's released. Look for me, I'll be the Human Engineer.
2. Destiny - Xbox One, PlayStation 4
Bungie's behemoth is a sure bet, especially since it's the only thing they've been working on since Halo 3. Keeping with the sci-fi tradition, Destiny introduces three classes for players to choose from. The atmosphere is intriguing and the gameplay looks astonishing. This isn't just another Halo, it looks fresh and I can't wait to see how all that work has paid off.
1. Super Smash Bros. - Wii U, 3DS
Nintendo has always been one of my favorite game companies since I was a kid. Super Smash Bros. has always delivered a fun and unparalleled party game experience and this latest installment will do the same. New characters like Mega Man and new stage mechanics will bring even more fun to the already stellar series. Many of my favorite game memories comes from playing Super Smash Bros. and that is why I chose it as my number one most anticipated game.
It was hard choosing the titles for this list, but overall I'm happy with the outcome. How do you feel about the list? Do you have any other anticipated games? I'd love to know!
