Oil is one of the most important resources in The Front, and it can be obtained in two different ways. One of them involves crafting a Manual Miner, and the other one requires you to find special oil resource nodes on the map. Our guide will provide you with tips on how to mine and get oil in The Front, including both working methods.
How to Mine and Get Oil in The Front
How to Use the Manual Miner to Get Oil
One of the most efficient ways to mine for ores and crude oil in The Front is by using the Manual Miner, which is a special structure that you can find in the “Structures” tab under the “Tech” menu. You can craft it at the crafting table using the following recipe:
- 6 Iron Ingot
- 75 Wood
- 1 Ether Shard
Once you’re able to build the Manual Miner, all you need to do is interact with it and select one of two possible options: Oil Collection and Ore Collection. Note that you need to hold the “F” button for these two options to appear, because if you just press it, then it simply opens the inventory without actually letting you operate it.
How to Use Resource Nodes to Get Oil
The benefit of having the Manual Miner is that you can place it anywhere, and it’ll produce crude oil as long as you’re interacting with it. At the time of writing, there’s no way to assign a follower to work on the Manual Miner, but I believe this option should be available in the near future.
The other way of getting crude oil and other resources is to interact with the resource nodes that are scattered all over the map. Below, you can find the oil nodes on the world map indicated with blue markers:
As you see, most of the oil is located in the southern part of the map, particularly in the desert biome. You can also place your Manual Miners there to yield even larger quantities of crude oil.
That’s all you need to know on how to mine and get oil in The Front. Stay tuned for more TF tips and tricks articles right here.
