The Front: How to Place and Use Spacetime Beacon

The Front will introduce you to some interesting technologies as you level up in the game. Spacetime Beacons and other alien technologies will provide you with resources, so they’re worth the effort. Unfortunately, the game will leave you guessing how to get the Spacetime Beacon up and running at your base. Here’s how to place and use Spacetime Beacons in The Front.

How to Place and Use Spacetime Beacon in The Front

You’ll need to unlock and place the Spacetime Beacon in your Tech Tree for a quest in The Front. The structure unlocks supply drops from the comfort of your own base. However, you’ll need a Creature Lure to activate the Beacon. So, once you trigger a supply drop, your base will start getting attacked in a tower-defense mini-game. If you survive the onslaught, you’ll receive supplies as your reward. I recommend you’re equipped with weapons before bothering with the Beacon. Here’s how to place and use the Spacetime Beacon: 

• Craft a Spacetime Beacon.
  • x18 Wood, x15 Stone, x10 Fiber, x1 Ether Shard.
• Remove your Territory Flag.
• Craft a Creature Lure.
  • x5 Iron Ingot, x45 Stone, x1 Ether Shard.
• Place the Creature Lure.
  • Ensure no obstructions or structures exist between the Creature Beacon and the Spacetime Beacon. Enemies will attack and damage structures in between the two.
• Place the Spacetime Beacon.
• Approach Beacon.
• Hold F to Open.
• Select Receive Supplies.
• The Creature Lure will automatically activate.
• Defeat all enemies.
  • Enemies left are displayed in the upper left corner.
• Approach Spacetime Beacon.
• Hold F to Open and receive Supplies.

The Spacetime Beacon will increase in difficulty as you progress through the waves of supply drops. The challenge will pay off with each drop improving in quality. As it grows in difficulty, I recommend you improve your base defense with traps and barricades. You’ll also want to craft a Weapons Bench so you can use a more sophisticated weapon than the basic spears.
