Living Steel is a new item introduced during Season of Blood in Diablo 4. Needed to face the new uber bosses and obtain uber unique items, this is how to get Living Steel in D4.
How to Get Living Steel in Diablo 4
If you’re looking to take on some of the new endgame bosses that have been introduced at the beginning of Season 2 in D4, you may need to collect Living Steel. In order to challenge Galvanic Saint, Grigiore, to combat, you’ll need the new item, which calls him forth when you enter the Hall of the Penitent.
Getting Living Steel isn’t as easy as just going to the blacksmith, however. You’ll need to play in the Eternal Realm, as it’s only acquired during a Helltide. Since Helltides were replaced by Blood Spawns in the Season of Blood realm, you can only get it in Eternal.
What is Living Steel Used for?
Once the event starts you’ll need to gather 300 Aberrant Cinders in order to open the Tortured Gift of Living Steel chest. It’s like the Tortured Gift of Mystery in that it spawns in a specific location, but there’s only one or two of them per region. The easiest way to find it is look out for the Elite enemy shielded in a red bubble standing in front of a chest. You’ll have to defeat this enemy after you first interact with the chest, but before you can claim its contents.
In order to successfully summon Grigore, you’ll need two pieces of Living Steel when playing in World Tier 3, while World Tier 4 requires five. You may have to go through multiple Helltide spawns in order to obtain all you need, depending on which world you want to face him in. In order to defeat all the new bosses, you’ll have to kill Grigore on World Tier 4.
That’s how to get Living Steel and what it’s used for in Diablo 4. For more about the Season of Blood, the best builds for your class, or where to find different items, race over to our guide library.
