PC errors are a huge hassle, no matter when or where you experience them, but new game releases always seem to come with at least a few. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is no different, and we’ll discuss how to fix MW3 error code 0x00001337, one of the oldest, in this guide.
How to Fix Error Code 0x00001337 in Modern Warfare 3
Error code 0x00001337 is one of the older PC Call of Duty errors, going back at least as far as Vanguard. Thankfully, there are more than a few possible solutions, some of them very easy to accomplish.
- Disable all in-game overlays. That means you need to turn off your Steam, Nvidia Geforce Experience, or any other overlays currently running on your PC.
- Update your graphics drivers. Strange as it may seem, error code 0x00001337 can be related to outdated graphics drivers. MW3‘s system requirements do recommend you use Nvidia 537.58 drivers or AMD 23.10.2 drivers, so if you’ve not updated in a while, doing so might solve the issue.
- Decrease your graphics settings. Fixing error code 0x00001337 might be as simple as reducing your graphics settings. Try turning down any shadows and volumetric settings first, then continue turning things down.
- Turn off any Razer apps. Some players report that disabling any Razer apps fixes error 0x00001337. This particular fix only applies if you’re using Razer peripherals, of course, but it can help those that are.
- Set MW3 to high-performance mode in settings. Open the graphics settings in Windows (search graphics settings from the taskbar), and you should see a Graphics performance preference section. If you don’t see Call of Duty as an option there, click Browse, navigate to your Call of Duty HQ installation, open the sp23 folder, and add sp23-cod.exe to the list. Once you see MW3 Single Player on the list, click Options and set your Graphics preference to High Performance.
- Verify and repair your game files. For Steam users, right click on Call of Duty HQ, select Manage, go to Installed Files, and select Verify integrity of game files. For Battle.net players, with Call of Duty as the open game, click on the gear icon next to the Play button, then click Scan and Repair.
Lastly, you can simply try relaunching Call of Duty HQ and trying to start the game again. That very well could fix MW3 error code 0x00001337. If it doesn’t, and none of the above fixes work, you can try contacting Activision support, and they may be able to help.
