Even though it’s not necessarily official, an Epic Games employee has informed the world on Reddit that the hotly anticipated Titanfall has gone gold.
This means the game should be set and ready to launch on March 11 for the Xbox One and PC; the 360 version will be out a few weeks later. Many consider it to be the most important title yet in the new generation, and certainly the most important for the Xbox brand. It remains to be seen how well it performs on the sales charts but chances are, it’ll sell like hotcakes.
The employee brought up another interesting point, concerning the game’s much-debated max resolution:
“I can tell you Titanfall has gone gold and the final resolution is most def above 720p. That’s all I can say.”
He’s referring to the Xbox One version here. For a while, many were saying Titanfall wouldn’t exceed 720p even on Microsoft’s next-gen console, even though community manager Abbie Heppe said there’d be a “good chance” that it would. However, bear in mind that we’re talking about an Epic Games employee and not a Respawn employee.
Therefore, you might want to take this information – as feasible as it may be – with a grain of salt. Personally, I have no doubt Titanfall has gone gold; as for the resolution, that’s really anybody’s guess right now.
