Fight The Dragon is a hack and slash, Gauntlet inspired game from the creative minds at 3 Sprockets: an indie developer out of Melbourne, Austrailia. I first found out about Fight The Dragon via Steam, I was browsing for a new game to get and I stumbled upon it under the early access page.
What is different about Fight The Dragon?
Fight The Dragon has the ACK; Adventure Construction Kit. A developer’s kit specifically for Fight The Dragon. The game wants you to focus on making our own adventures and dungeons, and then share them with the rest of the community. ACK is designed to be intuitive with both a gamepad and a keyboard and mouse, so placing a prop, enemy or checkpoint will be easy for everyone.
Creators can also give NPCs multiple stages of dialogue in 140 character chunks. Along with NPC animations you can tell your own story and guide players through your dungeon. Personally I find this aspect to be highly appealing, I can’t wait to tell an epic adventure of loot and myths!
Adventures and dungeons are said to be only anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes, a little short in my opinion, but you can go on as many adventures as you want. I’m sure that players will definitely be making longer and more challenging adventures as the community gets stronger.
After completing a number of adventures you will be rewarded with a ticket to fight the dragon. The dragon has a massive amount of health and will take you numerous tries to defeat it. Players have 3 lives per ticket and there are plenty of ways to die in the arena aside from the dragon. Your best bet would be to stock up on some tickets and then plow out as much health from the dragon as you can–good luck!

I can’t wait to get my hands on Fight The Dragon. I have been dying for a Gauntlet like game for years now. I used to play Gauntlet Legends on my N64 all the time. It looks like Fight The Dragon is going to quell my inner D&D Demons, for now. Creating and sharing adventures is going to be a blast!
