Respawn Entertainment Will Now Ban Titanfall Cheaters

Titanfall creators Respawn Entertainment have come up with a way to deal with cheaters on their servors

A reputation system that penalizes Xbox One players for bad behavior is coming soon. Right now though, Respawn Entertainment is taking a step towards banning a type gamer many of us hate: cheaters. In a post on the Titanfall website, Respawn gave the details.

Since the launch of Titanfall, Respawn has been collecting data on cheaters yet did not enforce any punishment on cheaters. As of March 21st, however, using GameBlock’s FairFight software, Respawn has began punishing players through banishment. Those who Respawn banned will see this message in the private lobby:

When banned, you still get to play Titanfall. However, you only get to play against other players who also got caught cheating. Respawn stated that:

“You can play with other banned players in something that will resemble the Wimbledon of aimbot contests. Hopefully the aimbot cheat you paid for really is the best, or these all-cheater matches could be frustrating for you. Good luck.”

When gamers have a banned player in their party, then the entire party gets banned for that play session. Even if you are a non-cheater, if you invite a cheating player into your party, then you can only to play with other cheaters.

Until you stop starting parties with cheating players, you will have to play in the cheaters lobby. Playing in these lobbies does not taint you; once you leave, you can continue playing in the normal games. You are only permanently banned if you get caught cheating. If you feel that Respawn banned you unfairly, there has been an email address provided to help resolve the issue.

Hopefully Titanfall’s new system will help curb the amount of cheaters playing on their servers.

Now those who use cheats such as aimbots will learn how annoying it is to have to face such, and maybe it will teach them not to hack other games. I am hoping that this does help, and that other developers take note of such anticheat methods. This way, we can have a much healthier gaming environment and not have to put up with gamers who feel the need to cheat.
