Lacey is one of the first trainers you’ll battle when you start the Indigo Disk DLC. However, this won’t be your last fracas with the Fairy-type specialist. On your way to becoming the BB League Champion, you’ll need to complete her trial and defeat her once more. Use the quick links below to skip ahead to the task at hand.

First Lacey Battle Tips: Moves and Weaknesses

During your first battle with Lacey in the Indigo Disk DLC, she’ll come equipped with the help of three Pokemon. What’s more, the Fairy-type trainer proves she’s a jack of all trades with greater type diversity in your first face-off. Here’s a look at her team and its biggest weaknesses.

Minun70ElectricGround
Excadrill70Ground/Steel (Fairy Tera Type)Poison, Steel

While her starting team may not seem all that threatening, things can quickly take a turn for the worse if you aren’t prepared to withstand electrifying moves and hard hitters. Because this is a double battle, you have a bit of wiggle room when it comes to type match-ups. As long as you go into this match with Pokemon that know Ground, Poison, and Steel-type moves, you’ll be able to deal a significant amount of damage.

Aside from practicing type advantages, watch out for Lacey’s power-up strategies. Plusle and Minun are a truly dynamic duo, packing serious power behind each other’s attacks with their signature Plus and Minus abilities. To deal with this, I suggest focusing on taking out one to start, as this will prevent additional buffs.

Second Lacey Battle Tips: Moves and Weaknesses

You’ll take on Lacey again in an official BB League Elite Four battle. Of course, you’ll need to complete her trial first. Skip ahead if you need help figuring out her quiz answers before your match. If not, let’s take a look at the team and strategies she’s working with.

Primarina79Water/FairyGrass, Electric, PoisonThroat Spray
Slowbro (Galarian)79Poison/PsychicGround, Ghost, DarkSitrus Berry
Alcremie79FairyPoison, SteelLeftovers
Excadrill80Ground/Steel (Fairy Tera Type)Poison, SteelN/A

In this battle, Lacey skillfully demonstrates her mastery of the Fairy type with powerful Pokemon, classic doubles strategies, and tricky held items. Most notably, she’ll start off strong by setting up Light Screen and Tailwind with Whimsicott’s help. You’ll also have to deal with Granbull’s Intimidate ability, which delivers an attack nerf. Openers aside, Primarina is an incredibly hard hitter, so you’ll want to come prepared to handle its Moonblast.

Unfortunately, Lacey managed to wipe out my Venomoth and Lucario in a double knockout after I took down her first three Pokemon. After that, I had to rely on other type advantages. Speaking from experience, your best bet is to dish out Poison and Steel-type moves. She’ll have the hardest time combating Steel, so I recommend starting there. Apart from that, Fire-type Pokemon can resist her team fairly well — just watch out for Primarina and Excadrill.

All of Lacey’s Quiz Answers

Before your BB League match, you’ll have to complete Lacey’s trial. On the bright side, this won’t require you to beat any trainers. However, she’ll certainly put your knowledge of Pokemon to the test with a set of five quiz questions. To answer, you’ll need to point to specific areas of your screen. Since this test is largely visual, take a look at the gallery below along with the written answers.

  • Question 1: In which part of its body does a Pikachu store electricity?
    • Answer: Its cheeks.
  • Question 2: Which part of a Venonat’s body functions like radar?
    • Answer: Its eyes.
  • Question 3: Which Sinistea is an Antique Form Sinistea?
    • Answer: The middle Sinistea.
  • Question 4: Which Minior is the pink one you saw first?
    • Answer: The far right Minior.
  • Question 5: Which part of Granbull does Lacey use as a pillow?
    • Answer: Its tummy.

That wraps up how to beat Lacey in the Indigo Disk DLC. Now you know her strengths and weaknesses, as well as which moves to use and Pokemon to bring with you. You also know her quiz answers, making this battle a lot easier than it would have been otherwise.
