To follow up the announcements of Nintendo latest financial reports, president Satoru Iwata stated in an investor Q & A that we can look forward to “unique experiences only made possible with the Wii U gamepad.” These new game experiences will be directed, at least in part, by Nintendo’s own master builder Shigeru Miyamoto.

“Today I only spoke about Mario Kart and Super Smash Brothers For Wii U in terms of Wii U software, however, at the E3 event to be held in June in Los Angeles we will discuss other software as well. Also, at that time, we will introduce multiple games that are designed to introduce players to the value of the Wii U Game Pad by demonstrating playstyles only possible because of it. These titles have been developed by internal teams under the guidance of Mr. Miyamto (Board Member, General Manager of the Development Division). The software titles that we will show at E3 which make use of the Game Pad will range from near complete titles to titles that are early in development, but will demonstrate the titles’ core appeals. We are preparing multiple software like this for the show.”
As to what these titles could be, we can only speculate and listen to rumors. Among the list of games that have been rumored to be showcased by Nintendo at this years E3 are Hyrule Warriors (which looks more like Dynasty Warriors than Zelda) and a game listed as The Legend of Zelda: Shard of Nightmare.
Now take these games with a grain of salt but if they do make an appearance, that can only be good for Nintendo right now.
So what else could be in the works with Miyamoto behind them? A new Mario title perhaps? All I know is that after they reported such profit loss, Nintendo has to do something to crawl back on top and if getting Miyamoto involved in more titles is their “ace in the hole,” then that can only be good news for them.
The only thing I have to wonder is what happens when the day comes and Miyamoto is not there to bail Nintendo out? Is this just putting a band-aid on a broken leg? Only time will tell. If you have any thoughts or opinions leave them in the comments.

I have been into videogames my whole life. Started out with an Atari 2600 playing Combat and Berzerk. Now I'm playing games like Titanfall and Plants vs Zombies on Xbox One and 360. I am a fan of cartoons and sci fi. Family Guy, American Dad, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Star Trek, Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica are some of my favorites. I used to be into comics, more specifically X-Men but I haven't collected in years. My favorite games are the Mass Effect series, Elder Scrolls series, Doom and Descent. When I grow up I wanna be Wolverine ;)
