You didn’t spend all that time in character creation just to hide your character’s face, did you? While there’s some truly great armor in Capcom’s ARPG, you may not want it on all the time. Here’s how to hide your helmet in MHW to show off your hunter’s beautiful mug.
How to Hide Your Helmet in Monster Hunter World
There are a lot of snazzy layered armors to farm for and slap onto your hunter in MHW, including a ton of modded ones on PC. Regardless of the platform you’re playing on, the armor your wearing, or whether you’re equipping layered armor, the process to hide helmets and headgear is the same. If you’re big on fashion in games in general, you’ll probably be turning your helmet on and off through your time in Monster Hunter World.
Where is the Hide Helmet Setting in MHW?
While in-game, press the button to open the menu and browse over to Options. From there, flip through the Options tabs until you get to Game Settings. From there, head to the second page of settings. The second option on the second page should be Head Armor.
The three options are Show, Hide, and Hide in Cutscene Only. I prefer to just set it to stay hidden, but choosing to only hide it in cutscenes means you’ll still get to don cool helmets and layered armor helmets but also see your hunter’s facial expressions in cutscenes. It’s the best of both worlds, but it’s not like any option is a life or death situation. You can change this setting at any time.
I’ve returned to Monster Hunter World because of the Monster Hunter Wilds announcement. You probably have too — or maybe you just started your first foray into the game. Now that you know how to hide helmet in MHW, you might also want to how know to find rare endemic life and how tempered monster investigations work. We’ve got tons of MHW guides to peruse through.
