Lollipop Chainsaw is about high school cheerleader Juliet Starling, Zombie hunter. In fact, her whole family are zombie hunters and the only thing stopping the zombie apocalypse is her.
First off, this game is very short with only 6 levels to complete. I beat it in about 6 hours and that’s with trying to collect everything.
Game play was lacking. Juliet has skills such as pom pom bash to stun the zombies, but there’s no need to use it when you can smash one button and easily kill everything.
There is also a star meter which fills up from killing zombies, and when activated you can kill everything in one hit. If you kill more than 3 zombies, you get a sparkle hunter which gives bonus coins and tokens, which for me was a good part of combat.
Eventually you get a blaster that takes away from the one button smash, but does not help much as you really only use it for flying zombies and some bosses.
Boss fights were lacking–they were far to easy, involved little skill and could still use just one button. It seemed to get easier each boss that I fought.
The story was probably the best part about this game, rude and somewhat immature at times which may not appeal to some but I usually got a good chuckle out of it.
Although the story and performances were good, the game play really brought this game down. There just isn’t enough fun in the combat to keep you entertained, and the replay value just isn’t there. If you want to play this game I would say rent it; do not buy.
