Honey is an important resource in Palworld. And once you have the right collection of Pals, you can create an endless supply of it at your base. Since it doesn’t have an expiration timer, it never goes bad, unlike other food items. So, here’s how to get and use Honey in Palworld.
What’s Honey Used For in Palworld?
Honey can be eaten on its own, but it’s also used in one particular recipe with the Cooking Pot.
Where to Get Honey in Palworld
You can get Honey in two ways. The first is by killing Pals that have a chance to drop it (Cinnamoth, Beegarde, Elizabee, and Warsect). And the second is farming it on a Ranch at your base. While four Pals drop Honey, only two produce it when assigned to a Ranch: Beegarde and Elizabee.
How to Use Honey in Palworld
Honey has two uses in the current version of Palworld. You and your Pals can eat it as is. Otherwise, you use it to craft Cake, which is required for breeding Pals. Cake unlocks with the Cooking Pot at Technology Level 17, becoming available when you craft one and interact with it. The recipe for Cake requires:
- 5 Flour
- 8 Red Berries
- 7 Milk
- 8 Eggs
- 2 Honey
As for stats, Cake has a nutrition rating of 656 and restores 82 Sanity in Pals that eat it. But I use it exclusively for breeding, especially since Cake doesn’t have an expiration timer on it when placed on a Breeding Farm. Honey itself only has a nutrition of 10 and restores 3 Sanity. However, it doesn’t expire, so you can stockpile it for feeding your Pals.
That covers how to get and use Honey in Palworld. It’s useful both for feeding yourself and Pals, and for breeding Pals if you want a constant supply of eggs to hatch. From here, check out our guides hub for more topics like how to unlock the Incubator or how to increase capture rate.
