Unlike Red Berries and Wheat, it takes a bit longer to unlock Tomatoes. You must unlock a way to grow and harvest them yourself. So, here’s how to get and use Tomatoes in Palworld.
How to Farm Tomatoes in Palworld
Tomatoes are only used in a few recipes right now, but each food item it’s part of gives you or your Pal a buff after eating it. However, unlike other resources, you can’t loot them directly from Pals. Instead, you’ll need to build a Tomato Plantation, plant seeds, and harvest them.
To unlock the Tomato Plantation, you must reach Technology Level 32. The build requires x3 Tomato Seeds, x70 Wood, x50 Stone, and x5 Pal Fluids.
How to Get Tomato Seeds in Palworld
Tomato Seeds are more elusive than other materials needed for early-game structures. Luckily, you can get them by catching or defeating Pals. As such, here’s a list of Pals with a chance to drop Tomato Seeds:
- Broncherry
- Dinossom Lux
- Mossanda
- Vaelet
- Wumpo Botan
I’ve found it’s easiest to catch or defeat a Mossanda, since you can find them around level 26, which is a breeze with a Fire-type Pal and Mega Spheres. If you’ve already unlocked the Tomato farm at Level 32, you won’t have trouble fighting them. Dinossom Lux is the toughest, though, as it’s a level 47 Alpha Pal.
How to Use Tomatoes in Palworld
After building a Tomato Plantation, your farming Pals take care of planting, watering, and harvesting. Then, once you have Tomatoes, you use them in the following recipes:
- Dumud Chowder: Increase Work Speed and Decrease Hunger Decay
- Mozzarina Cheeseburger: Increase Attack by 20% and Decrease Hunger Decay
- Omelet: Increase Attack by 10%
- Pizza: Increase Defense by 15%
- Reindrix Stew: Decrease Hunger Decay
- Salad: Increase Work Speed
And that covers how to get and use Tomatoes in Palworld. They aren’t used in as many recipes as ingredients like Wheat or Milk, but the recipes they’re part of each have a buff associated with them. I love making Salads since they use two ingredients and increase Work Speed, which is great for my base Pals.
