Druids have some unique gear in BG3, and I wanted to compile a list of these plus some additional best items for Druids. Our goal is to stack spell-bosting gear and defensive/utility options as well. Here are my top 10 best Druid gear pieces in Baldur’s Gate 3.
What are the Top 10 Best Druid Gear Pieces in Baldur’s Gate 3?
Below, you’ll find items that boost your spells and defenses, increase your Wisdom, and even some that help your party out. Druids are a unique jack-of-all-trades class that can fill multiple roles based on how the battle is going with spells and Wild Shapes. Here’s a quick overview of all ten items before we dive into them in detail:
- Vital Conduit Boots
- Cloak of the Weave
- Hood of the Weave
- Khalid’s Gift
- Spellcrux Amulet
- True Love’s Embrace and True Love’s Caress
- Armour of the Sporekeeper
- Shapeshifter Hat
- Armour of Moonbasking
- Staff of Cherished Necromancy
10. Vital Conduit Boots
This is a simple and effective defensive option for Druids that you can get in Act 1. The Vital Conduit Boots give you 8 temporary HP every time you cast a concentration spell. I use the Guidance cantrip to keep my Druid at 8 temp HP before every fight, which essentially means these boots give you +8 HP that’s constantly healed. Buy them from A’jak’nir Jeera in Creche Y’llek beneath the Mountain Pass Monastery in Act 1.
9. Cloak of the Weave
The Cloak of the Weave is both an offensive and defensive boost with +1 to spell save DC and spell attack rolls, as well as the Absorb Elements spell. This spell allows you to halve the damage on elemental attacks and spells targeting you once per Short Rest. You’ll also deal some extra elemental damage on your next attack. Buy it from Helsik at the Devil’s Fee in the Lower City.
8. Hood of the Weave
The Hood of the Weave is another spell-boosting item that’s also quite simple. You’ll get a +2 to spell attack rolls and spell save DC, which is a significant increase that any spellcaster should have. Buy it from the Mystic Carrion in Philgrave’s Mansion.
7. Khalid’s Gift
Khalid’s Gift is an important item for our Ability Score economy, similar to Auntie Ethel’s scalp. Khalid’s Gift grants you a free Aid spell, but more importantly, it increases our Wisdom by +1. Our starting Wisdom score of 17 ideally becomes 18, and we can increase it to the max cap of 20 with a single feat instead of two. This frees up Level 8 and Level 12 so you can take two feats. It’s in a display case in Jaheira’s Basement.
6. Spellcrux Amulet
Every caster needs as many spells as they can get per Long Rest. Unlike the Pearl of Power, which can only restore up to spell Level 3, the Spellcrux Amulet restores a single spell slot of any level. It’s even a Bonus Action, so you can use it in combat effectively. Better yet, you can also unequip it and equip another amulet once you use it, which I highly suggest you make a routine of. Loot it from the Warden in Moonrise Towers Act 2.
5. True Love’s Embrace and True Love’s Caress
True Love’s Embrace and True Love’s Caress are two of my favorite utility options for Druids that help your team. This pair of rings allows one person to cast Warding Bond for free on another party member, halving all damage dealt to them and transferring the other half to you. Since Druids have the biggest health pool in Baldur’s Gate 3 thanks to Wild Shape, you can share it with your team, especially when you pick up the Shapeshifter Hat later or multiclass into Barbarian for Rage. This turns you into the party’s tank, and I highly recommend it on Moon Druids. Find them using our True Love rings guide.
4. Armour of the Sporekeeper
Armour of the Sporekeeeper is an amazing Druid armor option for Circle of Spore builds. While Symbiotic Entity is active, you can spread Bibberbang Spores, Timmask Spores, and Haste Spores which can benefit your entire team potentially. That said, any Druid subclass gains +1 spell save DC and increased damage on Necrotic spells. Buy this armor set from the Mystic Carrion in Philgrave’s Mansion.
3. Shapeshifter Hat
Shapeshifter Hat is another special Druid item that increases your Wild Shape charges by +1. You can now Wild Shape three times per Short Rest. You also get a +1 boost to your Nature skill. I love using this on my Moon Druid but any subclass benefits from this. Buy the hat from Helsik in the Devil’s Fee in Lower City Baldur’s Gate.
2. Armour of Moonbasking
Armour of Moonbasking is the best Druid armor in BG3 in terms of special abilities. After transforming into an animal, you get a flat 22 temporary hit points. While those hit points are active, you also reduce all damage by 1. Furthermore, you get +2 AC and Advantage on saving throws against spells. This effect also carries over to your Wild Shape. Buy it from Bareki in the sewers of the Lower City of Baldur’s Gate.
1. Staff of Cherished Necromancy
One of the best Druid spells for pure damage is Blight, and Stafaf of Cherished Necromancy greatly boosts your Necromancy spells. Enemies you hit with any Necromancy spell have Disadvantage on their saving throw, and when you kill a creature with these spells, you get to cast a free one again. A similar effect can be achieved with the Staff of Spellpower, as well. Both staves are great for any Druid build. You can loot it from the Mystic Carrion in Philgrave’s Mansion in the Lower City of Baldur’s Gate.
That concludes my list of the top 10 best Druid gear pieces in Baldur’s Gate 3 and how to get them. For more BG3 guides, check out our list of the top light armor sets and shields, as well as my guide to the best staves for your Druid.
