As fun as vanilla Minecraft is, a lot of regular tasks or features can become tedious and mundane. Luckily for us, the modding community has given us plenty of ways to streamline the gameplay. Here are the top 10 best Minecraft quality of life mods in February 2024.
What are Best Quality of Life Mods for Minecraft
Corail Tombstone
Nothing is worse than having your inventory full of precious resources and then dying and losing all your items. With Corail Tombstone, this won’t be an issue anymore. This mod will create a tombstone whenever you die, holding all of your items. You just have to return to the tombstone without dying, or your items will be lost forever.
Enchantment Descriptions
Enchanting can be tricky since you never know what you’re getting out of it. The Enchantment Descriptions mod lets you know exactly what enchantments are available right in the Enchantment Table. I especially like this mod because I can get a specific enchantment like Unbreaking much faster since all of the cryptic text is translated.
Inventory Profiles Next
If your inventory is always a mess and you can never find what you’re looking for, Inventory Profiles Next will help. This mod will keep your inventory sorted and organized, automatically replace broken tools, and put everything into a chest with one click.
Just Enough Items
Just Enough Items allows you to view items and recipes easily by hovering over any item in the view box. I can never remember the recipes for everything, so this mod is a must for me. This mod is invaluable if you’re ever in the middle of a big build like a castle or underground base requiring different stone blocks. You’ll always know what you need, making it much more efficient.
NetherPortalFix
Eventually, you’ll find yourself going to the Nether. However, sometimes, when you leave the Nether, you’ll spawn in a completely different place than from where you entered. This can be annoying since you have to travel all the way back to your base afterward. NetherPortalFix fixes this issue, and you’ll always spawn back at the portal you entered from.
Optifine
If you want Minecraft to run better, Optifine is a must. In short, this mod will make the game run faster and look better. It also allows support for HD textures and other configure configuration options. Such as FPS boosts, support for shaders, minimap functions, and even variable render distances. I used to run into a lot of frame rate issues, but Optifine improved my FPS, and I haven’t had any issues since.
Timber Mod
I always find cutting down trees can be tedious and repetitive when I need a lot of wood, especially when starting a new world. Some trees are also super tall, so you can’t cut the whole thing down, and now you’re left with a half tree floating in the air. The Timber Mod will knock down an entire tree after you chop down one block with an Axe.
Tool Stats
Tool Stats lets you see all the information on your tools and weapons at a glance. You’ll be able to see the Harvest Level, Mining Efficiency, Enchantability, Tool Durability, and Attack Damage and Speed. You’ll always know which tool is best for the job.
Trading Post
Whenever you enter a village, one of the main things you’ll want to do is trade with all the villagers to get their sweet resources. However, they can be all spread out, and interacting with them can be a pain. The Trading Post mod allows you to trade with every villager simultaneously from a single location.
Waystones
Surprisingly, there is no fast travel in Minecraft. The Waystones mod allows you to create fast travel points anywhere. This is my favorite mod on this list since it cuts out any backtracking of far-away places. It can also be used to set up two bases that you can go back and forth to instantly.
