It is now the Nintendo Wii U’s turn to feature Watch Dogs as a game, according to a release date Ubisoft confirmed. After being delayed for over a year due to development, the third-person vigilante action game will be available on Nintendo’s latest console Nov 18.
“The wait is finally over,” Ubisoft Mexico’s Facebook post said in Spanish, who inadvertently disclosed the information. “The Wii U version of Watch Dogs arrives November 18. This version features an interactive map of Chicago on the GamePad screen. You can also opt to play alone with the controller.”
The Facebook post has since been deleted, and Ubisoft eventually sent out a press release.
Previously, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said his video game development company would shift their focus on making family-friendly titles when creating content for the Wii U. He noted gamers bought mature rated titles on Nintendo’s console “in very small numbers.”
His forecast specifically referenced their upcoming Nintendo release. “(Watch Dogs) will be the only mature game we publish on (the Wii U),” Guillemot said.
