What Happens at the End of Let’s Find Larry?

Let’s Find Larry is an indie horror game found on itch.io. In it, you spot your old friend, Larry, one day at the park. However, he runs away from you. This leads to you continuing to follow him, much to his increasing horror. Then, we receive orders from mysterious men to point out Larry to them, which helps corner him in an abandoned building. Finally, the mysterious men give us a gun, asking us to shoot Larry. And we do. But they call him Willy Mack instead of Larry. What’s going on?

Who is Willy Mack and Where’s Larry?

Well, the game actually answers who Willy Mack is and what happened to Larry if you look closely enough. The truth is that we never saw our friend Larry. Before the game started, Willy Mack escaped from prison because he managed to run away after a car crash during transportation. He was presumed dead in the crash for about a year. He had been arrested for the crime of murdering people, wearing their faces, and stealing their identities until he killed again.

As such, we first spot Willy after he finished burying Larry in the park, mistaking him for our old friend because he stole his face. His fear every time we spot him and his concerns that we’ll lead “them” to him is because he’s a fugitive evading the vigilantes hunting him. They ask us to kill Willy Mack because he’s a danger to society, even if we fail the task and he survives. He even kills the vigilantes hunting him. Then, Willy kills us and steals our identity now that Larry’s face has been revealed.

At the end, we see that Larry’s body is found at the park, confirming that he’s been dead the entire time. However, it seems Willy Mack remains at large, shown through the wanted posters plastered on the screen.
