Dragon’s Dogma 2 Mods Begging for Development

Here are our top Dragon's Dogma 2 mods that are begging for development.

With the launch of Dragon’s Dogma 2 came a slew of issues dealing with micro transaction-restricted character and pawn edits, complaints about single save files, and more. While we wait for Capcom to fix these issues, it’s usually the community who has to do right themselves post-launch through mods. Here are Dragon’s Dogma 2 mods begging for development.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Mods We Want Right Now

Free Character and Pawn Editor Mod

Something that irked the majority of the Dragon’s Dogma community, including me, is that there was no way to reliably edit your character and pawn after creation. You have to either pay a ton of gold to edit aspects, buy just two of the possible Art of Metamorphosis tomes, or buy one for real money. It can be really annoying wanting to edit a single cosmetic aspect of your character, like hair or voice, and having to pay real money for it.

That’s why a mod that allows you to edit the Arisen and your pawns for free would be highly sought after. Changing appearance, inclinations, voices, etc., should be an accessible feature of the game. Perhaps Capcom will end up implementing something akin to what Larian did in Baldur’s Gate 3 with the camp mirror but it remains to be seen. Until then, we’re begging for a character editor mod.

Multi Save Files Mod

Another huge issue with the game is that there is only one save file, meaning you can only play one character at a time. This means that you cannot play multiple characters at the same time, nor can you test certain quests or decisions and then reload to a previous save.

Granted, changing vocations is accessible but sometimes you want to start a new campaign altogether or reload to a previous save if you change your mind during a quest. A mod that either allows you to edit your savefile or create multiple ones would be much appreciated by the community.

Better Fast Travel

With all the fetch quests the game has for both main and side missions, there can be a lot of walking back and forth in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Yes, there are ox carts and Portcrystals, but not all settlements are connected by these. Furthermore, the amount of Ferrystones is abysmal, and they’re a hefty 10000 gold, which isn’t an affordable price. A mod that adds some of the following would be a godsend:

  • More Ferrystone drops from enemies or cheaper Ferrystones.
  • More Portcrystals or a Portcrystal in each settlement.
  • Make every settlement connected by an ox cart.
  • Infinite stamina out of combat.

Mods like these would drastically speed up traveling around the game world.

Performance Tweaks and FOV Adjustments

Due to Denuvo and poor optimization, Dragon’s Dogma 2 doesn’t run well on PC. The community could really use some performance-boosting mods and better shaders to increase FPS. Furthermore, I would really like a mod to adjust your FOV because the third-person camera in the game is zoomed in a lot. It’s especially troublesome on the PS5 in combat, where turning your camera swiftly 180 isn’t the easiest.

Better UI Mod

Lastly, a really important mod for PC and even PS5, in some cases, would be a better interface and menu mod. The PC version so far has the same UI as the console, which can be frustrating at times. Various menus are bogging down inventory, and equipment management can be troublesome when you cannot see your entire inventory. Something like the Skyrim Sky UI, where your entire inventory is visible at the same time, would be incredibly useful.

And can an Arisen ask for a hide helmet mod around here? It’s not hard to have the option to hide your helmet, especially because some optimal options for stats don’t always look the best.

That concludes my article on Dragon’s Dogma 2 mods begging for development. If you’re looking for Dragon’s Dogma 2 guides, check out our best hybrid vocations for each playstyle and best pawn vocations.
