If you want to make the new vehicles drive in LEGO Fortnite, you’ll need some Power Cells. These battery-like resources will keep your car running, and you’ll need plenty of them if you want to power a larger vehicle. So, here’s how to make a Power Cell in LEGO Fortnite.
How to Get a Power Cell in LEGO Fortnite
Instead of using fuel for your cars, all of them will require a more economically-friendly substance called Power Cells. You’ll need to craft Power Cells to place within your Power Centers for vehicles to run. First, however, you need to unlock the crafting recipe.
How to Unlock the Power Cell
To unlock the Power Cell crafting recipe, you need to pick up one of the essential materials required to make it — Biomass. Biomass is a new resource specifically used for Power Cells, but you can only make it at a Compost Bin station.
A Compost Bin station is built through the Build menu under the Stations section. Once you have one placed in your world, you can put unwanted resources and food inside to make Soil, Fertilizer, and, most importantly, Biomass. The higher the rarity items you place inside, the better chance you’ll get more Biomass. Once you add a piece of Biomass to your inventory, the crafting recipe for the Power Cell will be unlocked.
How to Craft a Power Cell
Once you have the crafting recipe unlocked, you can start crafting some Power Cells using a Crafting Bench. Any rarity Crafting Bench will do since, thankfully, the Power Cell is only an Uncommon item.
The Power Cell is listed under the Equipment tab of the Crafting Bench, symbolized by the torch icon. To make it, you’ll need a few resources:
- Glass x6 – Found in Bandit Camps or made on Metal Smelter with Sand, Brightcores, and Obsidian Slabs
- Biomass x50 – Made with Compost Bin
How to Use a Power Cell
Now that you have some Power Cells, you can use them to power up your vehicles. Keep in mind that you’ll need plenty of Power Cells made since they do eventually run out of charge, and the larger the vehicle, the more Power Cells are required.
Take your Power Cells over to the Power Center in your vehicle. Interacting with the Power Center will open up a menu with empty slots for the Power Cells to transfer to. Depending on the size of the Power Center, it may require more Power Cells to fill the slots:
- Small Power Center – Power Cell x1
- Medium Power Center – Power Cells x2
- Large Power Center – Power Cells x4
Press the Transfer button in the Power Center menu, X on Xbox, Square on PlayStation, or E on PC, to transfer over Power Cells into the empty slots. It will use the required amount if you have them available in your Inventory.
The more Power Cells you have, the longer your car will drive, but the more cells you’ll have to replace. The green meter on the Power Cells indicates their charge. Once they run out, you’ll need to replace them with new ones. So, keep the Biomass and Glass coming and stock up.
