The horror genre has a lot of potential to be educational, especially when learning is crucial to survival. It just so happens that this is the case in SOS: Forgotten Planet.

In SOS: Forgotten Planet’s trailer, we see that we’re trapped in either a space station or a ship. However, we aren’t alone here as hostile monsters chase after us. And in this place, Morse Code is the key to survival. The trailer is just a glimpse into the game, but it looks like we need Morse Code to open up chests or containers to gather supplies. It also looks like Morse Code will be necessary for opening and closing doors, especially since there are letters on each door shown.

I love that games can be used as tools for education, making it fun and easy to learn new information. Seeing horror blended with education makes a lot of sense to me, especially if you’re somebody who learns well under pressure.

SOS: Forgotten Planet brings a new educational horror experience to Steam by teaching Morse Code as a core game mechanic.
